Three Moves a Day for Back Pain Relief
Take the time for your spine
At Scorca Chiropractic, the health of your spine is our top priority, but is it yours? We know that the best way to encourage spinal longevity and increase your chances of an old age (or any age) free of back pain, is to practice daily maintenance. Whether you have chronic pain or no pain, the time is now to start providing your back with the assistance it needs to stay upright and stable!
Better spinal health starts in small increments
Let’s use as an example: the busiest person in the world. This type has neither a second to spare for niceties in conversation nor the time to eat a meal sitting down. We all have days when every fraction of time is precious and we reach the end of the day thoroughly exhausted. But even when we are reaching busiest-person-in-the-world levels, there are still small windows of time that we can take advantage of to strengthen our spines.
Ten minutes and three moves for back pain relief
These movements give you the most value for your time:
- Planks: start in push-up position; move on to your forearms, keeping them shoulder-width apart; hold 20-30 seconds with back straight and core engaged. Repeat 3 times.
- Supine back arch: start on your back, with your knees raised; lift your hips, keeping your back straight; hold 5 seconds then return to resting. Repeat 10 times.
- Child’s pose: start on your hands and knees, forming a table shape by keeping your back straight; lower your backside until your glutes are resting on your heels, while leaving your hands extended forward; relax and breathe in this position for 30 seconds, then return to table. Repeat as many times as feels good.
Taking care of your spine despite being busy
Let us not equivocate: if you live on-the-go, make time for your spine. You only get one and being too busy, let alone too lazy, is not an acceptable excuse for neglecting your spinal health. Our natural modalities support a lifestyle that puts your spinal longevity and nervous system function first.
