How to Reduce Stress Daily

Did you know that stress has adverse effects on the body? Stress can lead to things like headaches, muscle changes, fatigue, and even a loss of sex drive. The world doesn’t seem to be getting any less stressful. There are more drivers on the busy roads every day. Some of us spend 2 hours in traffic before and after work. Some of us work less than fulfilling jobs. Others have stress at work or home to deal with.

It’s time to start dealing with your stress and time to start developing coping mechanisms to help you manage your stress. Below are a few ways you can reduce your stress every day.

Exercise

Exercising to exertion is one of the best ways to deal with stress. We are genetically wired from our hunting and gathering ancestors who used to get in upwards of 15,000 steps in per day. Getting somewhere in the range of 10,000 steps today is acceptable. Go for a run, go for a hike, or take that martial arts class. You’ll begin to notice your stress decrease.

Practice Mindfulness

Knowing the patterns of your mind is important, and meditation is a great way to settle the mind and help you identify thought patterns. Meditation and practicing mindfulness exercises will help build your inner calm.

Limit Caffeine Consumption

Some of us are wired for stress and a cup of coffee can take us over the edge. Limit your intake to no more than 50 grams of caffeine per day. Have a cup or two in the morning, but do not have caffeine past 4 pm if you want a restful night of sleep.

Chiropractic care is also a great way to reduce stress. Chiropractic adjustments have been shown to reduce pain, reduce anxiety, and even help with insomnia. Contact Scorca Chiropractic Center today to schedule your consultation.
